The Expo is a place to meet Buyers and do new business. WHY BIRMINGHAM?
This event is in Birmingham’s world-famous Jewellery Quarter, Europe’s largest jewellery market – walking distance for 700 Buyers accounting for 40% of UK jewellery products. Compared to London’s Hatton Garden (famous for diamond retail only), the Jewellery Quarter is the hub for all wholesale jewellery, precious metals and gems B2B trading.
UK-INDIA FTA – ZERO IMPORT DUTY
Now is the perfect time to find more customers in the UK – following the Free Trade Agreement signed by Hon. PM Sir Kier Starmer and Hon. PM Narendra Modi in July 2025. While the US has hit India with tariffs, the UK is actively seeking more Indian suppliers.
WHY THE FREE TRADE AGREEMENT MATTERS
The 2025 India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) significantly boosts gold and jewellery exports from India to the UK by eliminating tariffs. India’s gold and diamond jewellery now enters the UK market with zero import duty, down from the previous 4% levels.
This move is expected to make Indian jewellery more competitive and potentially double exports to the UK in the next 2-3 years – creating huge opportunity for your business.
Zero duty on Indian jewellery: The FTA removes import duties on Indian gold and diamond jewellery, a major boost for the sector.
Increased competitiveness: Indian jewellers will have a significant advantage over their UK domestic counterparts and competitors from other countries, including Far East Asian rivals.
Projected growth: Exports are anticipated to double in value within two to three years. Some estimates suggest exports could rise from the current $941 million to $2.5 billion within this timeframe, according to Jewellery Outlook.
